Which platforms will the game be released on?
We will release the game for sure on Steam for PC, Mac, Steam Deck, and Nintendo Switch. We are looking into a release on PlayStation and GoG and will update you as soon as in case additional platforms join the rooster. A release on XBox is not planned, currently, because Game Pass is highly competitive and we don’t see a strong audience there for regular sales.

Will the game come to Nintendo Switch?
Yes! As we reached our stretch goal, we will have the resources to port the game to Nintendo Switch. You can upgrade your Steam game keys to Switch game keys by booking one Switch Upgrade add-on per key you wish to get for Switch.

How do I get a Nintendo Switch game key?
If you have pledged for a tier or add-on that contains a Steam game key, you can add the “Steam Key Upgrade” Add-on to your pledge to upgrade that key to a Switch key. In this case, add one add-on FOR EACH Steam key you wish to upgrade.
Moreover, we have now added the option to purchase additional Switch keys from the pledge manager / preorder shop to make things easier, if you wish to buy additional Switch keys beyond your original pledge.

Why does the Switch Key Upgrade come with another 5€ cost?
We need to ask for another 5€ per key because we actually have to buy them from Nintendo ourselves for almost that amount. Subtracting fees and taxes we would actually have to ask for more to cover the costs, but we’re covering that for you. <3

Will the game run on Steam Deck?
Yes. While it isn’t optimized the current public demo runs on Steam Deck already. For release we aim to have an optimized game with full controller support.

Will the game come to Linux?
Currently, we are not planning for a dedicated release on Linux. However, you can already play the demo using Proton 8-14 (for example) on your Linux machine and probably other versions, too. We expect that to work for the release as well because that’s the technology games run on Steam Deck with as well.

Which languages will the game be released in?
Currently, we plan on releasing the game will be released in the following languages: English, German, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. Since translations for the estimated amount of words we will have in Tavern Tal are costly, we will have to limit the languages to the ones we believe to be strongest for launch. Additional languages may follow after release if the game proves successful and depending of the translation opportunities we will find.

When will early access to Act 1 be available?
If your pledge contains the EARLY ACCESS to Act 1 component you will receive instructions on how to access it via email after you have completed and checked out your pledge. EARLY ACCESS to Act 1 will be available for PC or Mac through the same instructions.

How do the digital Tarot cards work?
The Tarot cards are a bundle of digital images you can download and print at home or take to a print shop for a fancy print for example. Please mind that all digital goods are meant for personal use only and may not be redistributed.

Can I commercially use digital downloads or prints of them or redistribute either of them in any way?
No. All digital downloads you will receive in the context of the Tavern Talk Kickstarter campaign, pledge manager and/or preorders are for personal use only. That includes but is not limited to the Wallpaper Set, Sticker Sheet, Posters, Map of Asteria, Coaster Design, Short Story, Battle Maps, D&D 5e One Shot, Tarot Cards, WANTED Posters. You are also not allowed to redistribute them commercially or for free.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
